Network Administrator
General Summary:
The IT Server Specialist's role is to ensure the stable operation of our client's computer systems with emphasis on servers. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all server hardware and software.
Essential Functions:
Design, maintain, and assure smooth operations of enterprise server hardware and operating systems.
Administer and maintain enterprise storage including: file shares, permissions, and SAN/NAS hardware.
Administer and maintain all aspects of Exchange Server.
Administer and maintain the domain structure, permissions, and all aspects of Active Directory.
Administer and maintain VMware virtualization infrastructure.
Perform and monitor system backups.
Secondary Functions:
Conduct research on products, services, protocols, and standards in support of computer system procurement and development efforts.
Recommend, schedule, and perform system improvements, upgrades, repairs, and purchases.
Analyze system usage and plan for growth or changes in system needs.
Assist in implementing disaster recovery plan for operating systems, databases, servers, and software applications.
Provide on-call technical support.
Other duties as assigned.
B.S. in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent work experience. Working technical knowledge of current server hardware and software. Working technical knowledge of operating systems, including Windows 2003 & Red Hat Linux. Expert problem solving skills. Strong oral and written communication skills. Highly self motivated and directed.
