Product Manager
TEKsystems is looking for a seasoned Product Manager who understand the product lifecycle and is fully engaged thru the entire process including working with vendors, meeting company compliancy objectives, test, work bugs, work with partners and product thru launch,. The worksite is located in Redmond, WA and will be on contract until 2009.
Detailed responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Requirements gathering
Author detailed use cases off of Marketing and Design requirements
Work with external partners and others to review functional specifications and use cases and define action plans to resolve any issues impacting document completion
Prioritize deliverables; ensure all team members are meeting project deliverables and develop plan of action to put deliverables back on track when failed deliverables are at risk of impacting timelines
Daily collaboration with all core team members including marketing, technology, network, IT, engineering and care among others
Troubleshooting of often complex issues & finding creative & innovative solutions to problems and tracking through to resolution
Writing test cases and providing regular direction & feedback to test leads
Reporting & defending weekly (and some times daily) status to executive management
Become a project SME and be the person others look to for answers and direction working with vendors and meeting compliancy objectives, work with development partners to launch, test, work bugs, launching- taking ownership for the entire lifecycle.
Qualifications
5 to 7 years experience in Product Management.
Demonstrated experience managing software development projects (preferably mobile consumer or web based)
Must have prior experience managing application technology vendors and consumer oriented software applications
Experience with wireless and/or wireless data networks and/or services
Must have demonstrated experience authoring complex functional specifications that are written in a clear, concise and logical manner
Must have demonstrated experience in authoring detailed use cases
Must have experience developing solutions for and managing projects involving client-server platforms within a mobile environment
Critical thinking skills are a must and ability to leverage past experience to work through issues independently whenever possible
Must be able to work effectively with multiple cross-functional teams and build relationships with internal and external team members to solve problems and ensure short and long term objectives are met
Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills ¿ must be able to manage multiple deliverables at any one time
Outstanding written and oral communication skills
Bachelor's degree in an approved field and 5 years of relevant industry experience or Master's degree in an approved field.
Preferred Skills
Strong familiarity with mobile phone OS (Windows Media, Symbian, RIM, Palm etc.)
Familiarity and understanding of music and social network services including those for the Web and Mobile
