Project Coordinator (Financial Industry) Job Description:

One of TEKsystems leading clients within the financial industry is seeking a Project Coordinator for a six month engagement in Toronto. The selected candidate will be providing analytical support to Project Managers and Senior Management to facilitate the successful implementation of projects as well as effective portfolio and department management. There will be a focus on financial tracking and reporting budgets, forecasts and actuals. The successful candidate will work closely with the Management and multiple Project Managers across multiple portfolios to execute on Project, Portfolio, and Management activities. Below I have included a more detailed job description.

Responsibilities include:
Work closely with variety of stakeholders such as Project Managers, Finance, program teams.
Manage relationships with all required technology partners within the program to track, update and report on program budgets, forecasts and actuals.
Ensures accuracy in promptly completing all required documentation (i.e., reports, change requests, correspondence/communications, tables, charts, files, etc.)
Apply TDBFG principles of project life cycle methodologies, tools, and best practices, ensuring appropriate documentation, change and risk management are in place.
Assists in the development of work packages, detailed project plans, specifications and schedules.
Prioritize and manage own workflow to ensure quality and efficiency (ie. meet deadlines; be flexible in adjusting to changing work priorities)
All required updates to internal financial management tracking tools (ie. EPM and Carpe)
Use project management software (MS Project) to create, updated and maintain project schedules with new and changed work packages and plans received from Project Managers and Team Leads. Ensure that dependencies and links with other schedules are established correctly, taking initiative to identify obvious conflicts.
Provide Senior Management and Team Leads with support in the area of resource management and department duties, including updating of weekly availability reports, project dashboards, weekly status reports through project management software.
Facilitate effective and efficient knowledge management through creation and maintenance of project/program Notes repositories.
Provide support for invoice processing.
Able to act as a central point of communication for all team members, management, business partners and other stakeholders on program financials.

Qualifications

Education/Accreditations
College / University or equivalent work experience.
PMP designation would be an asset

Other Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
Experience tracking and reporting project and portfolio finances. Ability to create and maintain reports.
Use Excel, MS Project, Visio and other MS Office applications as required.
Ability to analyze issues, track down information and resolve problems of low- to medium-complexity.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work well in a team environment.
Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with people at all levels.
