J2EE Developer
Our client is a leading telecommunications company located in Toronto. Currently, they are seeking a J2EE Developers for a six month engagement.
Developers, you will be involved in developing and delivering powerful, scalable and reusable J2EE software solutions. You will participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle including planning, technical design, construction, documentation, testing and deployment. Below I have included the responsibilities and technical requirements.
Responsibilities
Ensure development meets and delivers as promised on all projects
Ensure best practises are adhered to for all application development
Build applications that are scalable with reusable components in the required technology
Develop software components to meet the functional/business requirement
Qualifications
Required Knowledge
Design Patterns
Java / J2EE web application development (JSP, Servlets, XML, etc.) or services development
framework (ie. Jakarta Struts, Spring, etc)
UML experience using tools such as Together or Rational Rose
Understanding of large-scale software applications in a team environment
Oracle,
Java application server ( BEA Weblogic)
Version control system (ie. Harvest, CVS, Visual SourceSafe, ClearCase, Perforce, etc)
Build and deployment tools ( i.e. Ant, Maven ant etc...)
Background in the Telecommunications industry is an asset
Required Skills and Abilities
Minimum of 3+ years developing large-scale J2EE applications
Service oriented architecture design experience (SOA)
Experience with multiple databases and application servers
EJB or another Object / Relational mapping framework such as Hibernate, TopLink, Castor or Cocobase
Web Services development (SOAP, WSDL, AXIS, SAAJ, IXRetail, UBL, ebXML, etc)
XML Schema, XSLT, JAXP, TRAX, StAX, SAX, DOM, Xalan
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Required Professional Certification/Designation
4 year degree in Computer Science or similar college diploma
Required Experience
Minimum of 2 years experience using Design Patterns
Minimum of 2 years experience in Java / J2EE web
