Sr. Unix Administrator
Our client, one of largest asset management companies is currently searching for a Senior Unix Systems Administrator. This position is a 3-6 months contract with the potential of conversion to full time.
Technical Skills:
- Ten + years systems administration (or engineering) experience with Solaris 8, 9 & 10, Red Hat Linux AS 3.0, 4.0 and 5.0
- Veritas Volume Manager, Veritas File System &Veritas Clustering
- Sendmail, Samba & Exceed
- Jumpstart & Kickstart
- Good hardware knowledge - Sun Enterprise, Sun Fire range, HP DL family & HP Blade
- Shell Scripting knowledge – Bourne, C & Perl
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of IT principles and concepts
- Knowledge of C/C++ programming and general application development principles
-Strong knowledge of Oracle/Sybase
-Solid Understanding of TCP/IP Networking including DNS/DHCP and NIS
- Solid understanding of networking switches, routers, and firewalls
- Solid understanding of SAN / NAS based storage concepts and technologies (EMC / NetApps a plus)
-Good understanding of Virtualization technologies (VMware & Solaris Zones a plus)
-Good understanding of Windows server technologies
-Market Data knowledge a plus

- Strong presentation, inter-personal and communication skills both written and oral
- Project leadership
- Ability to deliver to tight timescales
- Team player, enthusiastic and committed
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize multiple projects effectively
