Senior Unix Engineer
Our client, a large financial institution in Manhattan, is looking for a Senior Unix Engineer to join their team on a contract basis.
The successful candidate will be part of a team of Unix engineers responsible for all aspects of infrastructure design, implementation and operations of mission critical systems in a major financial institution. This ever challenging work includes creating custom technical and operational solutions for the Sun Solaris 10 and Red Hat Linux 4/5 environment as well as high level storage engineering, involving technologies such as Sun Solaris 10, Solaris zones, Veritas Volume Manager, Veritas Cluster, Veritas Netbackup, MQ, Opsware SAS/PAS. 3Par is the storage technology.
Candidates must have extensive experience creating technical solutions in align with business initiatives. Candidates should have at least 7-10 years of experience in Sun Solaris engineering, including Solaris 10. Candidates should have solid experience with the Veritas Foundation Suite of products, Veritas Cluster and Netbackup. Candidates need to have experience with Red Hat Linux and virtualization. Candidates should also have a strong SAN background. Any experience with WebSphere, MQ and Reuters RMDS is a plus. .
Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar field.
It is a first shift Monday-Friday position.
