Hyperion Essbase Developer
Position Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Manager of Financial Systems, selected candidate will work directly with managers, supervisors and users to further automate the financial systems within the firm. Also this individual will work with the systems department staff to provide support for finance and other users on all the WGM financial applications. Another primary involvement will be with the Essbase Financial application development, testing and ongoing maintenance. The individual will be responsible for managing new project assignments as requested and prioritized by the Manager of Financial Systems, including project management, development, training, testing and documenting all aspects of the assigned tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and support existing Hyperion client and financial applications by managing hierarchy changes as well as updating substitution variables, calc scripts, business rules, Excel macros, reports, etc.
- Lead the design, implementation and administration of the Hyperion suite of analytical tools.
- Promote involvement in ongoing development of Hyperion systems among users by soliciting ideas, expanding the scope and capabilities of the Hyperion applications and their use.
- Develop, test and implement changes to Essbase applications as requested by Finance.
- Provide ideas whenever possible to further automate WGM Finance department tasks.
- Create, develop and implement new Essbase applications as requested by Finance.
- Support the forecast and budget cycles, working directly with firm Budget Administrator and Finance department. Ensure process consistency and accuracy of budget balances between Clarity, Hyperion and CMS applications.
- Consult and answer Essbase reporting and inquiry related questions.
- Develop and maintain reconciliation models between source applications and OLAP environment. Investigate, resolve and communicate discrepancies to the Management and Finance users on a regular basis.
- Maintain the Essbase servers and applications in the production, development and DR environments.
- Manage the migration process from production to the DR and keep all environments in-sync.
- Manage all upgrades to the production and DR environments using processes documented and tested in the development environment.
- Analyze and work with users on the impact of vendor software upgrades.
- Learn CMS OPEN and future accounting system application, SQL table structure and relationships, and customization tools as required.
- Assist in supporting all WGM financial applications.
- Work on various projects as assigned by the Financial Systems Manager.
- Project Management - Create, track and update all project tasks and continually inform the department and management of the project's status.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Microsoft Excel, Access and/or SQL programming experience.
- Familiarity with Windows 95, and Windows NT in addition to an understanding of basic networking concepts.
