Senior Java Developer - JBOSS
TEKsystems has partnered with one of our government clients in search of a Senior Java/J2EE Developer that has extensive experience with JBOSS. All candidates must be able to pass a background check and attain a Public Trust Clearance.
This position is immediately available for a minimum 6 month contract with a good chance of going long-term.
All candidates must be able to assume the following responsibilities:
Research, analyze, architect and then develop software utilizing core Java technologies within the core of the highly talented and exceptional product development team. In addition, determine efficiencies in application infrastructure and be able to identify improvements to the same. In this position, the candidate will be working on production released code for our Federal Financial software products; what you create will be used!
Qualifications
Technical
-A minimum of 10+ years experience in a software development role utilizing the following technology: J2EE, JAVA, EJB3, SPRING, Servlets, JSP, Tomcat JBOSS), XML, SOA.
-A minimum of 5 years experience developing commercial software. Actual experience in deployment of an enterprise Web application supported by JBOSS application servers.
-Experience in identifying the need for clustering of servers
-Expert knowledge of Java and JavaScript (prototypes, etc) knowledge of Enterprise-wide security implementation - SSL Certification
-Ability to propose changes and new architectures to back end and middle tier API's . Work with other Developers to enhance API's
-Experience working as an integral part of a development team while troubleshooting and resolving related issues elevated from QA
-Ability to independently learn new "technology X" in several days when necessary
-Ability to be "parachute-dropped" into an existing source code base and be able to digest then enhance
-Assist in the correction of software defects identified by the test team
Managerial
-Experience in the production of project plans
-Experience in developing accurate software development estimations and resource usage.
-Participation in software development meetings and design discussions,
Responsibilities:
-Ensure that application infrastructure will support the requirements of the customer’s business vision.
-Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts and team members to analyze business requirements and outline the proposed IT solution
-Make recommendations on technologies to be applied in support of customer requirements
-Participate in design reviews and provide input to the design recommendations
-Incorporate security requirements into the design
-Provide input to the information/data flow for the proposed solution
-Document the detailed application specifications
-Translate the technical requirements into programmed application modules and develop/enhance the software application modules
-Participate in code reviews
-Ensure all solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications
-Identify and troubleshoot application code-related issues
-Review and provide feedback to final user documentation
-Work with the quality assurance and system test team to quickly resolve issues
