DWDM Trouble Resolution Manager
A large telecommunications company is in need of a DWDM Trouble Resolution Manager.
The DWDM Trouble Resolution Manager is responsible for tier II technical support of complex client DWDM and SONET Ultravailable Networks (UVN). This feature rich product delivers wave selectable switching, Packet over SONET, Storage Area Connectivity, and provides transport to a variety of synchronous and asynchronous protocols. We are also the only customer facing team within the company that is considered Subject Matter Experts on Cisco’s MSTP (Multi-Service Transport Protocol).
The UVN Manager proactively assists clients with maintenance issues relating to UVN ring design, implementation, software migration, and troubles related to lifecycle network management.
Duties will include: play key role in pre-sale support through participation on Peer Review & Solutions Review Board to determine acceptance/rejection of new product designs and / or features; evaluate and certify new technologies for the UMC, including NMS modifications and enhancements; conducting Operational Readiness Testing (ORT) for new ring turn-ups; provide proactive surveillance of ring health issues; conduct Reason for Outage (RFO) evaluations for critical outages; provide support for chronics; provide mentoring to UMC incident management team; and provide 24x7 support for critical issues and escalations.
This position will require Subject Matter Expertise on the following technologies:
DWDM and SONET transport knowledge and experience, and Networking technologies and protocols (Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, L2 and L3 switching, VLANs, ATM, Frame Relay, FD-ATM, and SNMP). Hardware Requirements are Nortel 3500, 5200, 5130, and Connect DX; Cisco 15530, 15540, 15454, 15216, and 15501; ADVA FSP 3000; and Ciena / CNT Storage Connect devices.
