Critical Immediate Need for Data Analyst
We need a data analyst that has very strong data validation skills. This piece is critical and your previous job should be in-line with validating data in large enterprise environment. 1. Someone who has at least 5 years of experience.
2. The person should be currently working or has very recently worked as an active team member. I need someone who is used to doing things himself or herself, not only supervising or managing others to do them. The person should be a self-starter. Should not require continuous supervision.
3. Someone who is currently working or has worked within the last 2 years as a data analyst. This is important. I cannot use anyone who has never done this before or may have done this many years ago but now has moved on to do other things.
4. The kind of work that person should have experience with is working with data, data profiling, understanding what is going on with the data, how the data is being used, researching where it is coming from, how it is being consumed, etc. Must be capable of thinking of issues in terms of data.
5. Must have solid SQL background in a Unix based database e.g. db2, Oracle etc. Please note that I do not need a DBA. Must have created ad-hoc SQL scripts regularly. Experience with TOAD or other such tools is desirable. Please note that Microsoft Access only experience does not count although it is desirable as an additional experience along with other Microsoft tools.
6. Must have experience and knowledge of data modeling. I do not need an expert data modeler, but must be able to understand models. Must understand concepts related to models, both ER as well as Dimensional.
Desirable requirements are:
7. Experience of doing the above in a bank or a financial institution.
8. Experience with Business Intelligence or Data Warehousing related work.
9. Experience with Cognos or any other BI reporting tool
10. Experience with Reference Data Management related work.
11. Experience with Meta Data Management related work.
12. Knowledge and experience with SAS is an additional value but not necessary.
