Configuration Manager
TEKsystems has partnered with an Alpharetta Area Enterprise wireless communications company to offer a position as a Configuration Manager. This company is the leading wireless telecommunications provider in the United States. This client can offer exposure to great technology in a true enterprise environment.
This position involves configuration and deployment of J2EE applications on a Solaris platform. This will be done with Shell Scripting, SQL Scripting, and Weblogic. Some experience with process implementation and improvement is also required. The client is requesting 5 years of Solaris experience and 3 years of SQL and Shell Scripting. 2 years of J2EE development is also requested. Ideally, a candidate should be familiar enough with J2EE to be able to tune and edit applications for deployment. Strong written communication skills are necessary for limited technical writing responsibilities.
Requirements:
This job requires minimum four years support experience with at least two years of application support experience in UNIX environments with extensive Korn shell scripting. Candidate would benefit from knowledge in Java, J2EE, BEA Weblogic, iPlanet, JBOSS, tomcat, Ant, and any other build tools. Java development, enterprise network, and heavy application deployment experience is a plus.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for configuration management and implementation builds, QA system administration, staging for production application, and implementation procedures documentation for key payment and CRM related applications for the mobility organization. Also, the candidate will be involved in the implementation of these applications into production. There may be some secondary involvement in 24x7x365 support and maintenance of these applications in some situations. The optimum candidate must have knowledge in Solaris or HP/UX operating systems, Korn-shell scripting, J2EE, Weblogic, iPlanet, JBOSS, tomcat, Ant, and build tools. The candidate would benefit from experience with monitoring tools and methodologies, and be able to demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills. Candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
