Application Developer Analyst
TEKsystems is working with a government integrator to identify a Application Developer Analyst. This position is in support of the United States Department of State and is located in Washington, DC.
Description
Works daily with the Federal Government Customer to understand needs. Conceives and develops processes and procedures to document problems and their resolution. Develops functional diagrams, data and work flow diagrams, and prepares information for presentation to the customer. Plans, organizes, writes, edits and formats technical manuals and other related publications concerned with the operation and maintenance of systems deliverables.
Ability to develop/utilize formal specifications, data flow diagrams, and other accepted design techniques and tools in the development of software. Must be able to develop formal requirements documents. Must have knowledge of best practices as it relates to coding and database design.
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing focus and demanding deadlines. Interfaces with technical team to research and interpret technical design specifications, interface designs, design diagrams and test. Must be able to collaborate within a technical team to develop alternatives and determine solution. Provides leadership to Software Quality Analysis Team and support to the Help Desk. Must be able to work individually. Must possess excellent oral and written communications skills.
Technical Skills
- Must have worked with SQL Server and MS Access. Ability to create queries using SQL.
- Must be able to analyze and study complex system requirements
- May have experience in CSS, HTML, ASP, XML, and Microsoft Visio.
- Front end design experience capitalizing on usability and navigation, a plus.
Other Necessary Skills
- Must have a minimum of 6 years experience
- Must work well with others, but also be able to work independently.
- Must have demonstrated leadership experience.
- Must have a good understanding of Software Development Life Cycle
- Must possess the ability to assess and provide estimates for software development tasks.
- Must possess experience in authoring and editing technical documents, preparing graphs and charts.
- Must provide status reports on a periodic basis.
- Experience in Section 508 a plus, but not necessary.
- Must be able to produce requirements documents, document work, and communicate
- Must be able to participate in team discussions and give input as an individual thinker.
