Software Test and Validation Analyst
Our client, a governmental agency located in Monterey, is looking to bring on a Software Test and Validation Analyst for a long term contract opportunity.
The successful applicant will work with analysts, researchers and developers to understand technical and functional requirements. This person will be responsible for the design, development, execution and documentation of test plans, test cases, procedures, scripts, and test reports for an existing Oracle-based decision support system. Projects will include supporting the testing and integration of secure web services interfaces to information providers, new or modified system business rules, and reports. Provides support on assigned applications including testing enhancements and modifications and defect fixes. Participates in requirements and design reviews. This position may provide some configuration management and software change management support.
A qualified candidate will posses the following:
* Must have at least 3 years experience as a software tester and/or programmer
* Must have at least 2 years of Oracle PL/SQL experience
* Familiarity with web-based technologies including XML, XSL, JDBC, Java Servlets, HTML, and UML
* Experience with Solaris Unix OS
* Familiarity with software quality assurance and testing methodologies
* Ability to create test cases, test procedures, test scripts, execute planned tests, and publish the results
* Ability to effectively use and manage defect-tracking tools to track the QA phase of projects
* Experience using configuration management software tools such as CVS or SVN
* Ability to work effectively with development teams to efficiently reproduce and resolve defects
* Ability to work both independently and as a team member
* Excellent oral and written communications skills
* Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical team members
* Must be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance
