Senior Java Developer
Our client, a leading Internet Company located in San Jose, CA, is looking for a Senior Java Developer to join their team. Successful candidates will have recent experience designing and developing object-oriented, multi-tiered, distributed, scalable infrastructure and Web applications.
Responsibilities:
- Very strong technical leadership skills to lead large scale initiative across various cross product development teams.
- Closely working with engineers and other cross-functional teams like Product Management, Project Management, Release Engineering, Quality Assurance, Operations teams, etc. to develop innovative solutions that meet market needs with respect to functionality, performance, scalability, reliability, realistic implementation schedules, and adherence to development goals and principles.
- Estimate engineering effort, plan implementation, and rollout system changes.
- Assist in leading product initiatives, recommending improvements, mentoring, and guiding junior team members.
- Identify project risks and work effectively to mitigate them.
- Share release management duties on feature rollouts and share on-call responsibilities.
- Find and help fix stability/scalability issues in a very time critical environment.
- Support site rollouts and available for on-call duties to resolve site issues.
Requirements:
- At least 7+ years of hands-on working experience with Advance Java/J2EE technologies and OOP Design Patterns in building multi-tiered, distributed, scalable infrastructure and Web applications.
- Web development using EJB, J2EE technology, including experience with JSP, Servlets, Tomcat, XML, and XSL.
- IBM WebSphere, Eclipse, or other J2EE application servers experience on various operating systems is required.
- At least 4+ years of experience in ANSI SQL using Oracle 9i database technologies is required.
- Some working knowledge on using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, DOM, XML, XSLT and W3C standards is an added advantage.
