Linux/Windows System Administrator
The Senior Secure Area System Administrator position provides design, implementation, and support of enclave and isolated networks of heterogeneous systems supporting Engineering efforts. In addition, this position is expected to provide innovative solutions to complex problems and technical leadership and expertise to the organization.
The Senior Secure Area System Administrator will be responsible for participating in risk assessments and translating government regulations into secure, but cost effective, compute environments. This position provides technical support to the Engineering organizations and will be expected to provide technical analysis and leadership to the IT engineering organization. This person will be responsible for recommending, implementing, and supporting UNIX, Windows, networking (TCP/IP and basic Cisco IOS commands), remote access, SharePoint, storage, encryption, and backup solutions in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
The Senior Secure Area System Administrator will be expected to participate in break/fix issues, perform root cause analysis and provide proactive service with the goal of preventing problems. The ability to integrate disparate technologies and understand complex compute infrastructure is a must. The ability to automate tasks and prepare formulaic processes where possible for hand off to other organizations is a must.
The ability to obtain a security clearance is a must.
This person will be working in project phases with the group. First he/she will fill in for people who are there currently, so they can refocus on "planning". Next, this person will participate in projects and then move into more support roles. This person will be required to do multiple jobs since not all of the current staff "will be allowed to do certain jobs" (for this reason, clearance and US Citizenship is needed).
This person will need to be a great communicator in order to communicate with: Helpdesk Support Group Desktop Engineering Systems Analyst Information Security and Network Operations Windows/Unix System Administrators Engineering organizations Management of Business Units and WWIT
Requirements: -Familiarity with ITAR, NISPOM, NIST, and other US government standards and regulations would be a plus -Installation, configuration and maintenance of system and security monitoring tools. -Complete required analysis and audit tasks with high quality and high consistency. -Evaluate, recommend and pursue technical and procedural solutions. -Provide technical interaction with other support organizations. Provide technical explanations and recommendations to management. -Linux, Windows, NetApp, Sharepoint, SQL, Automation tools (Perl, Shell, etc.) -Experience with Linux, Windows and they highly prefer NetApp. -Experience automating - by using Perl or Shell, or both, etc. Pluses: -SAN Knowledge – NetApp is a plus -Knowledge of virtualization and experience with VMware is a plus -Sharepoint/MOSS 2007 is a huge plus and -Knowledge of Decru (NetApp Encryption) is a big plus
